چکیده

In this work is developed a new four-dimensional algorithm for studying geological features on Mars using high-resolution stereo camera. The 4-D B-spline model has been implemented to reconstruct such as craters. solid simultaneously trace tag craters in sequences of camera slices by completely identifying surfaces which ally themselves with attached pixels. study shows that can identify flow patterns from larger the small crater. Marghany great polygon pattern flows reconstructed B-spline. conclusion, integration between and excellent promises implementing remote sensing applications.

Surface roughness and geological mapping at sub-hectometer scale from the High Resolution Stereo Camera onboard Mars Express

The quantitative measurement of surface roughness of planetary surfaces at all scales provides insights into geological processes. Complementary of the analysis of local topographic data of the Martian surface at kilometer scale, as achieved from the Mars Orbiter Laser Altimeter (MOLA) data, and at the sub-centimeter scale using photometric properties derived from multi-angular observations, a ...

Viscous flow features on the surface of Mars: Observations from high-resolution Mars Orbiter Camera (MOC) images

[1] A unique morphology suggestive of viscous flow of a meters-thick surface layer was identified in high-resolution (<10 m/pixel) Mars Orbiter Camera (MOC) images. A global survey of 13,000 MOC images resulted in the identification of 146 images exhibiting these viscous flow features. Slope angles derived from Mars Orbiter Laser Altimeter (MOLA) data, along with an experimentally derived flow ...

Interior channels in Martian valleys: Constraints on fluvial erosion by measurements of the Mars Express High Resolution Stereo Camera

[1] In High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) images of the Mars Express Mission a 130 km long interior channel is identified within a 400 km long valley network system located in the Lybia Montes. Ages of the valley floor and the surroundings as derived from crater counts define a period of 350Myrs during which the valley might have been formed. Based on HRSC stereo measurements the discharge of...

A Case Study in Extracting DEMs from High-Resolution Mars Stereo Pairs Using a Simple Computer Vision Algorithm

Background: Geoscientists have been doing research on Mars for decades. As the photography technique has improved, we now have thousands of high-resolution stereo pair images but it is difficult to extract quantitative information including relative heights and slopes without the aid of computer vision. Our goal is to create an easy-to-use, accurate and high performance tool which can process a...

Multi-resolution Stereo Matching Using Genetic Algorithm

In this paper, a new genetic-based stereo matching algorithm is presented. Our motivation is to improve the accuracy of the disparity map generated by removing the mismatches caused by both occlusions and false targets. In our approach, the stereo matching problem is considered as an optimization problem. The algorithm first takes advantage of multi-view stereo images to detect occlusions, ther...
